<image:caption>I’m a sophomore at Chatham High School. In my free time, I’m the captain of my volleyball team, I play the piano, and I teach engineering and coding classes after school. My interest in computer science started in seventh grade wanting to learn code but realizing no classes were offered in school; since then, I’ve learned languages like Java and Python in AP Computer Science and on my own. The first part of my initiative was setting up a Girls Who Code for middle/high school girls in my area to maintain their coding game no matter the level. The second part is expanding: I created a system of presentations, resources, and activities for other GWC’s to be opened with everything they need in other communities, based on mine. So far, we started a GWC in an underserved community and two others will be ready in the coming months.</image:caption>
